Auckland downtown ferry terminals

Constructed in Northland and designed for the Downtown Auckland passenger ferry network, these pontoons are complex multilayered constructions that required intensive exterior and interior corrosion control applications to protect the integrity of the infrastructure from a lifetime at sea. We applied abrasive blasting to all internal and external surfaces and components, and followed up with specialist protective painting. This had to be done under time constraints for maximum efficacy, and also to meet the client’s deadline, and so we operated rotating day and night shifts, with proper safety protocols in place and observed.
